ACC injury care for foot, ankle and knee injuries.
If you injured your lower limb, you may be able to access ACC treatment without needing a GP referral first.
At Flow Clinic in Wairau Valley, Auckland, we provide ACC injury assessment, hands-on treatment, rehab exercises, footwear advice, orthotics when clinically appropriate and return-to-activity planning.
We help with lower-limb injuries from daily life, work, training and sport.
ACC injury care is for accidents and injuries, not gradual non-injury pain. If you are unsure, book an assessment and we can guide you.
Foot and ankle injuries
Ankle sprains, foot sprains, heel bruising, toe injuries, forefoot injuries and injury-related walking pain.
Knee injuries
Knee sprains, twisting injuries, sports-related knee pain, impact injuries and lower-limb control issues after injury.
Hip and lower-limb injuries
Hip strains, groin strains, calf strains, running injuries and lower-limb injuries affecting work or sport.
Assessment first, then a clear rehab plan.
Every ACC injury needs a clear clinical picture. We assess the injury mechanism, pain location, swelling, range of motion, strength, walking tolerance, footwear and activity goals.
Treatment may include manual therapy, soft tissue work, taping, bracing, modified orthotics, shockwave therapy when suitable and supervised rehab exercises.
- ACC injury assessment and claim guidance
- Hands-on treatment and symptom management
- Exercise rehab based on injury stage
- Footwear, brace or orthotic advice when needed
- Return-to-work, running or sport progression
How ACC treatment works at Flow Clinic.
A simple process from assessment to recovery planning.
Book assessment
Book an ACC initial appointment if you have an injury from an accident, sport, work or daily activity.
Assess the injury
We assess symptoms, injury mechanism, functional limits and clinical findings to guide treatment.
Treat and rehab
We use treatment and exercises that match the stage of injury and your activity goals.
Progress recovery
We progress strength, balance, walking tolerance and return to activity as symptoms improve.
Book early if injury affects walking, work or sport.
Early assessment helps identify what is injured, what to avoid, what to start and how to progress safely.
Pain after accident
If pain started after a twist, fall, impact, awkward landing or sport incident, an ACC assessment may be appropriate.
Swelling or limping
Swelling, bruising, limping or reduced weight-bearing tolerance should be assessed rather than ignored.
Not improving
If symptoms are not improving as expected, rehab may need to be adjusted or further assessment may be required.
Questions about ACC injury rehab.
Simple answers before booking at Flow Clinic.
Do I need a GP referral for ACC treatment?
No GP referral is usually needed to book an injury assessment at Flow Clinic. We can assess and guide you through the treatment process.
What does ACC initial cost?
At Flow Clinic, ACC initial appointments are $20 and ACC follow-up appointments are $10 for eligible injury claims.
Can ACC cover orthotics?
Orthotics may be considered for eligible injury-related claims when clinically justified. This depends on the injury, symptoms and functional limitations.
What if my pain is gradual?
ACC usually relates to injury from an accident rather than purely gradual pain. If symptoms are gradual, a private assessment may be more appropriate.
